Quebec Luxe: 7 Staging Ideas to Warm Up Your Home for Fall and Winter
by Bridge Hennessey
November 10, 2025
Here are the seven luxury fall staging tricks you can use to make your listings feel high-end without overspending. These expert-approved ideas combine seasonal warmth and strategic details to attract today's discerning buyers, all while staying budget-friendly.
7 Luxury Fall / Winter Staging Ideas for a Montreal Residential Property
BY BRIDGE HENNESSEY
Go Moody, Not Muted:
Swap out bright summer colors for rich, earthy tones like chocolate, rust, terracotta, and deep olive. Even a couple of pillows or a throw can instantly update a room’s vibe and create emotional warmth. For colour inspiration, see Farrow & Ball, their palette is exquisite for creating that depth and mood.
Birch or Eucalyptus Branch Styling:
You can grab affordable birch or eucalyptus branches at Decors Veronneau, place them in a clear vase, and let the natural texture and shape add instant seasonal luxury to your space. These branches are easy to find locally and truly reflect Quebec’s nature.
Layered Textures:
Add depth with plush throws, velvet cushions, and soft rugs. Mixing different materials—faux fur, wool, and silk—makes rooms feel inviting and expensive. If you’re ready to shop, these stores have a wide selection for every style:
Mood Lighting:
Replace cool-toned bulbs with warmer LEDs or set up table lamps to highlight cozy corners. This ensures the space feels sophisticated and comfortable, especially as daylight gets shorter.
Signature Scents:
Use subtle candles or diffusers with notes like amber, sandalwood, or spice. Avoid strong, sweet scents; think boutique hotel, not bakery.
Statement Wall or Limewash Trick:
Try temporary limewash treatments or use peel-and-stick wallpaper to create visual interest. Even a small accent wall can help buyers imagine a designer touch at a fraction of the price. Farrow & Ball has a
beautiful wallpaper selection worth a look.
Declutter and Rotate Accents:
Remove excess accessories. Store seasonal items for easy removal post-sale and keep surfaces fresh with weekly flower arrangements (or quality silk alternatives for convenience).
Why These Tricks Work
These tricks signal a cared-for, move-in-ready home that's thoughtfully staged.
Rich colors and layered textures offer comfort and sophistication, helping buyers envision themselves living there.
Scent and lighting quickly build emotional connections, while simplification and intentional accent choices keep the space feeling premium, not cluttered.
Industry studies consistently show staged homes sell faster, often for higher prices, with returns on staging investments between 5% and 15%
A 2026 Home Interiors Manifesto: From Montreal Elegance to Laurentian Retreat
BY BRIDGE HENNESSEY
2026: Designing Homes That Actually Feel Like Living
In 2026, I am less interested in decorating and more obsessed with how a home feels the moment you cross the threshold. My clients move fast, think big, and carry heavy schedules, so the spaces I design in Westmount, downtown and the Laurentians have to do more than look beautiful; they need to regulate your nervous system, hold your rituals, and photograph effortlessly without ever feeling staged.
Westmount: A Quiet Luxury on Grosvenor
My recent work on Grosvenor Street in Westmount captures exactly what I believe a city home should be in 2026: calm, finely detailed, and confident enough not to scream for attention. We respected the architectural bones such as the ceilings, original lines and generous windows, then layered in tailored millwork, lighting that flatters both people and art, and a warm, quietly luxurious palette that feels as comfortable on Monday morning as it does at a Saturday night dinner.
When you walk in, the first impression is not trend, it is ease: everything has a place, every view line has been considered, and nothing feels accidental. That is the standard I now hold for every urban project, whether in Westmount, the Golden Square Mile or the more industrial edges of Griffintown.
From Griffintown Buzz to Laurentians Stillness
There is a very specific feeling that comes from leaving the buzz of Griffintown on a Friday: construction, cafés, the weight of emails, and the hum of the city. As you drive toward the Laurentians, the streets open up, the light softens and your whole body starts to exhale.
By the time you reach Mont Tremblant or a lakeside road near Saint Sauveur, the air is cooler, the sky feels wider and you crave a softer kind of space. The weekend homes I design there are not secondary versions of my city work; they are built as modern retreats with the same level of detail, tuned to another frequency.
Natural materials, generous openings to the landscape, deep seating, hidden storage for gear and quietly integrated technology make it possible to arrive late on Friday and feel like the house has been waiting for you, with lights on, temperature perfect, thanks to the Glycol heated floors and everything exactly where it should be.
A Montreal Point of View
What defines my interiors now, whether on Grosvenor, in Griffintown or in a wooded Laurentian lot, is a set of values more than a style label. Spaces are warm, layered and livable; they borrow the rigor and integration of top Montreal studios that combine architecture, interiors and project management, but always leave room for personality and small, human imperfections.
Clients in 2026 expect their homes to multitask as office, refuge, entertaining hub and wellness container all at once, and my work answers that by insisting that every square foot has a clear purpose while still feeling relaxed and human. The result is a life that flows: you can close the door on Griffintown, step into Westmount elegance, and then disappear into the Laurentians on the weekend, always returning to spaces that are designed to hold the exact life you are building.
If you are ready to redesign the way you live in 2026, from a calm Westmount residence to a true retreat in the Laurentians, I would love to walk the space with you and map out what is possible. Email me
